Sallie Parker Foutch

79 year old Sallie Parker Foutch of Smithville died Monday afternoon at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a former Chairman of the DeKalb County Board of Education and founder of the Girl Scouts in DeKalb County. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Smithville First United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Mark Pafford will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Morgan and Clara Cantrell Parker; her husband, McAllen Foutch; a sister, Peggy Parker; and a grandchild, Ann Claire Judkins. Survivors include two daughters, LeAnn Foutch Judkins of Smithville and LuAllen “Lucy” Foutch of Hermitage. Two step-daughters, Sarah Faircloth of Athens, Georgia and Dorothy Holman of Houston, Texas. Two grandsons, Jim and Mac Judkins of Smithville. One sister, Billie Ann Parker of Nashville. One brother, Jack and his wife Walteen Parker of Smithville. The family asks that donations be made to either the First Methodist Church Building Fund or to Justin Potter Library, in memory of Ms. Sallie, in lieu of flowers. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
