73 year old Robert (Bob) Campbell of Gassaway died Thursday at NHC Health Care Center of Murfreesboro of an extended illness. He was a Cannon County native, a member of the Clear Fork Methodist Church, a Mason of DeKalb Lodge #358, and he was a retired steam fitter and plumber. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Steve Kelly and James McDonald will officiate and burial will be in the Sycamore Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 9:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Jessie Melton Campbell and a sister, Clara Hawkins. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jerris Hines Campbell of Gassaway. Four children, Robin Gunter, Mike and his wife Sharon Campbell, Jill Ellis, and Mark Campbell all of Gassaway and a sister, Kate Woods of Grants, New Mexico. Seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren and one great granddaughter also survive. Woodbury Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
