Local Firefighters Compete in TUFF Challenge

Members of the DeKalb County Volunteer Fire Department recently competed in TUFF Challenge ( Tennessee Ultimate Fire Fighter ).
Assistant Chief Roy Merriman say’s this was the local department’s first time to compete in this challenge and plans are already being made to compete next year. “We had a five man relay team of firefighters from across the county. DeKalb finished 6th with a relay time of two minutes and twenty six seconds, Every portion of the relay represented some type of normal firefighter activity.”
Merriman added ” I would also like to say how proud the department and I are of of these guys and their commitment to training.”
