Jeff Nichols

47 year old Jeff Nichols of Woodbury died Wednesday at his home. He was born in Cannon County. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William Richmond W.R. & Lucille Nichols and maternal grandparents, James Clyde & Anna Bell Hughes. He is survived by his parents, W.R. and Jo Ann (Hughes) Nichols of Woodbury; two sons, Jeffery “Bubba” Nichols and Dustin Nichols both of Woodbury; two sisters, Arlene Wilson & Dewey Barrett of Woodbury and Julie Fitts & David Speakman of Smithville; the mother of his children Barbara Sue Nichols; mother & father-in-law, Troy & Jean Murphy; sister & brother-in-law Billy & Wanda Mayo; special uncles, Roy Nichols and Thomas Earl Nichols; special cousins Ruth Ann, Dennis, Lee Ann, Daniel Watts and Amber; three nieces, Andrea Davenport, Dana Davenport and Jennifer & Josh Keomonivong; one nephew, Derrick Fitts; one great niece, Jocelyn Kromonivong; two great nephews, Braxton Carter and Kelvin Keomonivong; special friend, J.C. Bailey and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Nichols was a Baptist and worked for many years in bridge construction and as a tree surgeon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool and spending time with his family and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1-9 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Smith Funeral Home chapel with Bobby Nichols and Thomas Nichols officiating. Interment will be held in the Reed Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations through Smith Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
