Ella May Jones

98 year old Ella May Jones died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Smithville First Assembly of God. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of High Funeral Home in McMinnville. Larry Briggs and Donnie Kelly will officiate and burial will be in the Keltonburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service. During her life, Mrs. Jones was a dedicated Christian, and active in her church and community. She was involved with the American Red Cross and as an election poll volunteer. She and her husband owned and operated several successful businesses prior to retirement and at the time of his death at age 90, Mrs. Jones and her husband had been married for 70 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Mary Etta Redmon Delong; husband, William Arthur Jones; and three sisters, Maude Wall, Goldie Whitley, and Jackie Williams. Survivors include nephews, Freddie, Joel, Doyle, J.F. Williamson, Woody and Royce Davenport, David Williams, Ronnie Whitley, and Thwaitt, and Jack Wall. Nieces, Janice Maynard, Alvida Woody, Bobbie Harrison, Melba Pedigo, Ann Webb, and Lynn Cantrell. High Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
