Carmyne Lowery

92 year old Carmyne Lowery of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. Lowery was a retired farmer, member of the Bethel Methodist Church, member of the Eastern Star, voter precinct worker, and Trustee of the Bethel Cemetery for over 30 years. The funeral will be Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Wilson Williams, Terry Little, and Royce Martin will officiate and burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. An Eastern Star Service will be Friday at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Lowery was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Johnnie Denby; adopted parents, Dora and Sam Marler; one son, Sherman Lowery; and two brothers, Joe and Frank O. Denby. Survivors include a daughter, JoAnn Blaylock of Smithville. Four grandchildren, Terry and Brian Blaylock of McMinnville, Mark Lowery of Hilham, and Cindy Phillips of Murfreesboro. One great grandchild, Dylan Lowery of Hilham. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family has asked that donations be made to the Bethel Cemetery, in lieu of flowers.
