76 year old Douglas “Doug” Reed of Smithville died Wednesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Crestlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Chaffin Reed. Three daughters, Donna Stephenson, Doris Cantrell, and Denise Gribble. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Gideons International. Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
