Abraham Ruiz

Abraham Ruiz the 2 month old son of Alfredo “Freddy” and Abigail Rosario Ruiz of Liberty, passed away Thursday morning, August 24, 2017 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER. He was born May 26, 2017 in Lebanon, TN. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a host of family and friends. He was of the Christian faith. We have taken Abraham to Edinburg, Texas where a graveside service and interment was held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Hillcrest Memorial Park. Ronald H. Wilmore

Ronald H. Wilmore, 69, passed away peacefully at his home on August 31, 2017.
He was born on May 24th, 1948, in McMinnville to Julian H. Wilmore and H. Naomi Madewell who preceded him in death along with his grandparents, Will Melton and Emma Lee Collins and Otis and Claudia Wilmore; one brother, Roger H. Wilmore; and one son, Ronald Terry Wilmore.
He was retired from Dezurik Manufacturing, where he worked for 31 years. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ. A wonderful and loving husband and father, he enjoyed old cars, motorcycles and spending time fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Rebecca L. Wilmore; daughter, Melissa (Joe) Fuson of Smithville, TN; step-daughter, Renee (LTC(R) Bruce) Gipson of McMinnville; and step-son, Robby (Bonnie) Mullican of Woodbury, TN. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Brittany Turner, Michael Mayfield, Taylor Mullican, Rachel Fuson, Andrew Fuson, Seth Fuson and Jase Wilmore; three great-grandchildren, Jenson Turner, Amber Turner and Laurel Mayfield; and two sisters, Patricia Lee (Ronnie) Greene of McMinnville and Deborah Wilmore-Foster of Oklahoma. Many other loving family and friends also survive.
We are so very thankful for the years God graciously gave us with him and for the knowledge that one day we will see him again.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in High’s Chapel with Doug Bost to officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 11:00 a.m. Sunday until the time of service at High’s.

Christina Barbara Dobbyn age 92 of Dowelltown and a native of Michigan, passed away Monday morning, August 28, 2017 at NHC HealthCare Center in Smithville. She was born February 11, 1925 to her parents, Edward and Elza Turpening Gunn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Robert Donald Graham and Donald Dobbyn; 3 brothers, Hugh, Walt and Gilbert Gunn; 2 sisters, Anna Judd and Marion Kernott. Ms. Dobbyn was a retired restaurant owner and attended the Smithville First United Methodist Church. Survivors include 6 children, Donna K. (Terry) Gibson of Dowelltown, Glenda (Decho) Iliev of Rockledge, FL, Edward A. (Cindy) Graham of Smithcreek, MI, Michael (Pamela) Graham of Gate City, VA, Donald (Kathy) Dobbyn of Hermansville, MI and Daniel R. (Tami) Dobbyn of Pulaski, TN; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 sister, Iva Gallagher of Sandusky, MI and 1 sister-in-law, Reva Gunn of West Branch, MI. The family has honored Ms. Dobbyn’s request to be cremated and a service will be held at a later date. 95 year old Bea Pack of Smithville passed away Tuesday at her residence. She was a member of the Mount Herman Baptist Church and retired from Texas Boot. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Kenneth Tramel will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis W. Pack; parents, Charlie and Minnie Tramel; three brothers, Chuck, Frosty, and W.C. Tramel; and two sisters, Annie Mae Taylor and Robbie Driver. Survivors include three daughters, Jannace and Darrell Alton of Hendersonville, Marcia and Lynn Peterson of Gallatin, and Sharon Pack of Smithville. Two sons, Jerry Pack and Mark Pack of Smithville. Five grandchildren, Scott and Kelley Alton of Hendersonville, Brian and Sharon Baird of Florida, Brandon Baird of Hendersonville, Julie and Todd Nevills of Hendersonville, and Jessica Peterson of Gallatin. 71 year old Kenneth Young of the Jefferson Community passed away Friday at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital. He was a farmer and a member of the Mt. Hope The Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Garry McBride will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 1-8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until the service at 3 p.m. He was a member of the Cattleman’s Association. Young was preceded in death by his parents, Magness Young, Jr. and Annie Laura Stone. Two brothers, Paul and Potter Young and a sister, Peggy Maples. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Susan Jones Young; a daughter, Laura Young Hall; granddaughter, Callie Hall; brother, Phillip and Rita Young; sister-in-law, Pam Young; and a brother-in-law, Calvin and Beverly Jones all of Smithville. 46 year old Angel Ferrell of Smithville died Saturday at her residence. She was a Baptist. The family has chosen direct cremation. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Brown Mathis; a son, Billy Ferrell; a sister, Tammy Mathis; and grandmother, Pat Stanley Mears. Survivors include two sons, Lee Allen Ferrell of Warren County and Jessie Glenn Ferrell of Smithville. One granddaughter, Destiny Cheyenne Keys of Smithville. James Edward Hale

Mr. James Edward Hale age 87 of Dowelltown passed away Monday evening, August 21, 2017 at NHC HealthCare Center in Hendersonville. He was born February 18, 1930 to his parents, the late Marion and Beulah Herman Hale. He was a construction worker, farmer, a US Army veteran having served in Korea and a member of Fuller’s Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Frances Hale. Funeral services will be held 1:PM Thursday August 24, 2017 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Sam Ordung officiating and burial to follow in the Salem Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday 11 AM until 9:PM and Thursday 10 AM until the time of service at 1 PM. Wilodean “Mama Dean” Turner age 80 of Smithville, passed away Saturday morning, August 19, 2017 at NHC HealthCare Center in Sparta. She was born January 8, 1937 to her parents, the late Calvin and Vergie Hubbard Blair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Judy Thomason; grandson, Michael Bly; brother, Eugene Blair and sister, Brenda Colgan. She was a member of In Christ United Church and a retired factory worker, having worked at Texas Boot and Genesco. Mama Dean is survived by 1 daughter, Rita (Richard) Franklin of Smithville; 5 grandchildren, Chris (Jamie) Franklin, Stacey Robinson (Jeremy Bilbrey), Stephanie (Kenny) Murphy, Steven (Christy) Bly and Brian (Kayla) Bly; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 1 brother, Paul (Gail) Blair of Smithville; 4 nieces and nephews, and special friend, Glenda Stanley. Funeral services will be conducted 1 PM Wednesday, August 23 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Richard Franklin officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Joseph Michael-Ray Johnson, the newborn son of Jason and Kristina Biggs Johnson of Carthage, was stillborn Wednesday at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Carthage. The funeral will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Hale Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday from noon until the service at 4 p.m. The baby was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sherry Creasy and aunt, Christa Farmer. In addition to the parents, the child is survived by a sister, Sahara Marie Johnson and grandfather, Michael Johnson of Carthage.
